How to Say It

The master glossary for the whole hall.
Every god-name, place, practice term, and rune — reconstructed for US English speakers.

Reconstruction, Not Recording

Every non-English name and term on this site includes reconstructed pronunciation — Old Norse approximations for US English speakers (Jackson Crawford, Old Norse Online). In article text, the first mention of a curated term shows the guide in gold beside the word. Stress falls on the first syllable unless marked. ð sounds like th in "the"; þ sounds like th in "thick"; ǫ/ö is not English o in "frost" — it is roughly like u in "fur." This page aggregates every curated pronunciation entry across Einherjarhall — pantheon, worlds, history, practice, sagas, wisdom poems, and both runic alphabets. Wisdom poem pages also include per-stanza pronunciation under the Old Norse lines. Where a term appears on a dedicated page, the link below takes you there for full context.
